A Peek at Two of the Newest Shops of Buckhead

For those of us who have lived in the Buckhead area for a while now, we’ve seen a lot o’change over the past few years. What once was a street filled with the “original” Buckhead bars, is now home to luxury retailers galore. Where once a half-constructed site stood and you only went down Buckhead Avenue to get to Fado, there are now nearly complete fancy schmancy condominiums. Heck, when we moved back to Atlanta last spring, and NOTHING had changed, I was starting to think this whole “Streets of Buckhead” concept was gone for good. Well, ladies and gents, we’ve been proved wrong! The Shops of Buckhead are alive and well and continuing to open by the day – and what beautiful shops they are! #buckheadatlantamoment #bam

I was playing a little hooky on a recent Friday afternoon (well, I actually took the time off, but playing hooky just sounds more fun!) and I dragged my out-of-town friends over to an old favorite, Café Agora, for a late lunch. [Side note: If you haven’t been to Café Agora, it’s one of the best lunch spots in town! Get the meze plate for an app (or your whole meal if you’re like me) and ask for extra pita…] As we pull onto Buckhead Avenue to cut over to East Paces, what to my surprise, but the Streets of Buckhead are alive!

After lunch we moseyed on over to check out the scene and see which stores were actually open. We happened upon the BEAUTIFUL L’OCCITANE shop that was just so having its grand opening that very day – with French-themed King of Pops to celebrate! The store is huge and you feel like you’ve been transported right over to Paris with all the scents, bright pops of yellow and rustic hardwoods. This location also offers facials for women and shaves for men – how neat is that? Shopping and a facial sounds like a great afternoon in my book.

Their hand creams are hands-down (haha…) the best and they smell fantastic. I love that all of their products contain botanical ingredients, so you won’t find any harsh chemicals creeping on your skin. I can’t wait to head back to the shop to pick up a few Christmas gifts come holiday shopping time – maybe I’ll get a facial while I’m at it 🙂

Just next door to L’OCCITANE, Warby Parker’s newest brick and mortar store is open for business. Georgia is the fifth state to get a Warby Parker store – no more online shopping for us Atlantans! You can now go right into the store and try on all their styles and pick up your favorite (although it may be hard to choose just one!).

And you’ll go home with a cute little print out of your photos – just like photo booths of the olden days (also known as our childhood). They also email you the photo and can email you the style names that you tried on if you need more time to think before you buy.

We’ll be back to report on more of the Buckhead shops in due time, and let us know if there are any we must see ASAP!
